Several difficult passages of Scripture which may cause you concern are tackled head-on and are shown conclusively to not be threatening our unconditional security in Christ. God does not offer to us eternal life purchased by the blood of His Son to then snatch it away when we don't perform well enough. If we are saved by grace, then God's power also keeps us saved by grace. You most assuredly can never lose your salvation.
This book is written from a non-Calvinist position. It is true that Calvinism teaches that someone who is truly saved can never perish in hell. However, the Calvinist view minimizes, dilutes, or dismisses certain difficult Bible passages that are indeed warnings written to the saints such as Hebrews chapter 6, by teaching that it is either a hypothetical situation, or that non-believers are in view.
For Hebrews 6 I prove that it is indeed speaking of Christians, but clearly show that it is not a threat to their eternal security.
The same for James 2. The Calvinist view teaches that James is speaking of a mere "professing faith" and that his point that "faith without works is dead" only means that a true Christian will have good works. This is not what James is talking about! In my book I give you the true teaching of what James means. In fact read it here for free, for I discuss the letter of James in my chapter "Faith and Works". The other chapters available online here deal with the prodigal son, the rich young ruler, and First Corinthians 5:5.
My book is a meat and potatoes discussion of the doctrine of eternal security. In it I refute many arguments that the "lose your salvation" crowd hurl at us like flaming darts. I pull no punches and hold nothing back. Speaking the truth in love does not mean that the truth must be timidly spoken. My hope is that this book will be an encouragement to help strengthen the faith of you my brothers and sisters in Christ so that you will be a more effective witness and win many souls from darkness to light, from lost to eternally saved.
May the Lord richly bless you in your service to Him!
Love in Christ,
Phil
